Charlotte NC: Anti-Violence March for 18-year old Charney Watt
Charney Watt who was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested Gary Lavon Daniels, 18, and charged him with the shooting death of Charney Danell Watt. Police said they were called to a residence in the 5500 block of Laborde Avenue at about 1:20 p.m. Sunday with a report that someone was shot. Officers found Watt suffering from a gunshot wound. Dating violence does not just happen to celebrities, it can happen in your community. I am saddened, but not shock about what happened to this beautiful girl. It’s amazing how someone can just take your life. It’s all about control. It is important not just to raise awareness, but also to get knowledge about dating violence. We must know the signs and not hesitate to respond to them.
