Police have charged the boyfriend of a 24-year-old city woman with murder and a firearm charge in her domestic-related shooting death, they reported today.
Latonya Dickens was found outside her apartment building in the 6100 block of Edward St. about 3:45 p.m. Sunday suffering from a gunshot wound to her shoulder, police said. She died soon after at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Police arrested at the scene Terrance Wright, also 24, of the same address.

I do not know LaTonya Dickens personally, but this definitely hits close to home. This is realization that situations like this can happen.
